Hole transport layer-free deep-blue OLEDs with outstanding colour purity and high efficiency

Abstract

Hole transport layer-free deep-blue OLEDs were fabricated and excimer emission was greatly suppressed by modifying ITO. They displayed CIE color coordinates of (0.162, 0.028), and the deepest blue colour among blue OLEDs ever reported. Meanwhile, a FWHM of only 38 nm, a maximum EQE of 4.43% and a slight efficiency roll-off were obtained.
