Inverse μ-Photonic Crystals Enhanced Mini-sized Quantum Dot LEDs

Abstract

Quantum dot light-emitting-diode (QD-LED) with luminescence efficiency enhanced by micron-sized TiO2 photonic crystals with inverse opal structure (μ-iPCs) has been developed for lighting and displays. By introducing μ-iPCs in QD-LEDs, the QD luminescence intensity and the external-quantum-efficiency (EQE) can be enhanced ~250% and ~ 640%, respectively.
