Au nanocrystals decorated TiO2 nanotubes for photocatalytic nitrogen fixation into ammonia

Abstract

Nitrogen photofixation has been successfully performed on TiO2 nanotubes decorated with Au nanocrystals which clearly outperform commercial P25 under the same conditions. Au nanocrystals increase N2 chemisorption and promote charge separation for titania nanotubes, therefore playing pivotal roles in nitrogen photofixation reactions.
