Efficient modulation of upconversion luminescence in NaErF4-based core–shell nanocrystals

Abstract

Efficient modulation of the upconversion selectivity of heavily-doped core–shell nanocrystals was achieved through the precise tuning of [F]/[RE] ratio during synthesis. Brighter upconversion luminescence with a smaller nanoparticle size and tunable color output were realized, which has great potential for material design with engineered upconversion properties in favor of further applications.
