Dipicolinamide and isophthalamide based fluorescent chemosensors: Recognition and detection of assorted analytes

Abstract

This perspective focusses on a variety of florescent receptors based on dipicolinamide and isophthalamide groups and their significant roles in the molecular recognition, sensing and detection of assorted analytes ranging from metal ions, anions, neutral molecules, drugs and explosives. Both “turn-on” and “turn-off” nature of sensing highlights noteworthy applications in many fields encompassing biological, medicinal, environmental and analytical disciplines.
