A silver-substituted phosphomolybdate prevents the growth of bacteria without affecting the balance of reactive oxygen species

Abstract

A novel 2-D nanoscale polyoxometalate based on penta-coordinated Ag+ substituted [P2Mo5O23]6– was successfully designed and synthesized. It can retard the growth of E. coli without disturbing the balance of reactive oxygen species in aqueous solution system.
