Simple and label-free strategy for terminal transferase assay using a personal glucose meter

Abstract

We herein developed a simple personal glucose meter (PGM)-based method for terminal transferase (TdT) activity assay by utilizing glucose oxidase (GOx)-mimicking activity of cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs). With this strategy, the TdT activity was reliably determined down to 0.7 U/mL with high selectivity against other non-specific enzymes.
