Vibrational spectrum and chemical imaging of cyclo[18]carbon by tip enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Abstract

Vibrational modes and tip enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) of a new carbon allotrope cyclo[18]carbon (C18) is studied by density functional theory. Silver cluster tip is used to probe interaction with C18 depending on distance and atomically resolved positions. The TERS images manifest the position of C≡C bonds as observed in recent experimental report.
