Charge transport through water-assisted hydrogen bond in single-molecule glutathione disulfide junctions

Abstract

We report a novel strategy to identify the reduced and oxidized glutathiones by employing STM break junction technique. A mechanism involved with water-assisted hydrogen bond is proposed for charge transport through the oxidized glutathione junction, which is verified by both experimental and theoretical findings.
