A Leap of Polyarylethers Opening New Opportunities

Abstract

Poly(arylether)s (PAEs) synthesized via nucleophilic aromatic substitution are well recognized as high performance engineering thermoplastics. This work highlights recent developments of PAE synthesis which opens new opportunities for material chemistry. Combining PAE and COF to give porous high dimensional PAEs and/or extraordinary stable COFs. Bio-PAEs introduces sustainability into high performance engineering materials which may create a game-changing shift in the engineering plastic field. These developments represent the new direction of material research and it is worth to put efforts on.
