Visual Multiple Color Emission of Solid-State Carbon Dots

Abstract

Solid-state carbon dots (CDs) with visual multiple color emission performance is critical for its applications, but this is still a highly challenging task. Herein, the solid-state luminescent CDs, possessing visual multiple color emission capability, are prepared by a facile in situ synthesis approach within confined interlayer of the host 2D matrix Laponite (SNC/Lap). Tailoring the reaction condition actualizes wide-ranging tunability of multiple color emission, having cyan, green, yellow-green, yellow, and orange emissions. In addition, the as-synthesized SNC/Lap demonstrates a bright application prospect in white light emitting diode (LED). This work opens a new opportunity to the development of devices applied in visual multiple color light emitting surrounding.
