Multifunctional low-generation dendrimer-based nanoprobe for targeted dual mode MR/CT imaging of orthotopic brain gliomas

Abstract

RGD peptide-targeted low-generation dendrimer-based nanoprobe has been developed through the versatile dendrimer nanotechnology. Poly(amidoamine) dendrimers of generation 2 can be modified or loaded with Mn chelates, RGD peptide, and gold nanopaticles to have desired stability, cytocompatibility, cancer cell targeting specificity, and ability to cross the blood brain barrier for targeted MR/CT imaging of an orthotopic brain glioma.
