Facile synthesis of tin-doped polymeric carbon nitride with a hole-trapping center for efficient charge separation and photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Abstract

For the first time, to enhance the photocatalytic performance of polymeric carbon nitride (CN), tin-doped CN was synthesized with N–Sn bonds working as hole-trapping centers and exhibits prominently accelerated charge separation and improved photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. This work provides a new method for CN modification by fabricating N-metal bonds.
