Copper-catalyzed nitrene transfer/cyclization cascade to synthesize 3a-nitrogenous furoindolines and pyrroloindolines

Abstract

An efficient copper-catalyzed nitrene transfer/cyclization of tryptophols and tryptamines was successfully developed. A series of 3a-nitrogenous indole alkaloids were obtained in good to excellent yields (up to 99%) using aryl azides as the nitrogen source.
