Quasi-monodisperse polymer libraries via flash column chromatography: correlating dispersity with glass transition†
Abstract
Quasi-monodisperse (Đ = 1.005–1.040) poly(methyl acrylate) (PMA) polymer libraries are obtained via flash column chromatography separation of polydisperse (Đ = 1.130) PMA made from reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The limits of chromatographic polymer separation and analysis are discussed. In addition, the influence of dispersity on the thermal properties (glass transition) of the PMA library is investigated.
