Removal of melamine contaminants with Ag-doped ZnO nanocomposite materials


In this approach, Ag-doped ZnO nanosheets (Ag/ZnO NSs) were prepared by facile wet-chemical method using reducing agents in alkaline medium at low temperature. Initially, the Ag/ZnO NSs were totally characterized by UV/vis, FT-IR, FESEM, XEDS, XPS, and powder XRD etc. For the potential chemical sensor application, the Ag/ZnO NSs were deposited onto flat glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with conducting 5% nafion binders to result in a sensor that has the fast response towards the selective melamine. Characteristics including the higher sensitivity, the lower-detection limit, better reliability, good reproducibility, ease of integration, long-term stability, highly selective, and enhanced electrochemical performances were investigated in details in this appraoch. Ag-doping effect into ZnO on melamine detection is also investigated in the revise manuscript on the basis of fabricated sensors. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed chemi-sensor could applied and effectively utilized for the detection of melamine compound with acceptable and reasonable results.
