A ratiometric fluorescent thermometer based on amphiphilic alkynylpyrene derivatives

Abstract

We report the synthesis of a new alkynylpyrene derivative, which shows thermoresponsive, ratiometric, and reversible fluorescence color switching from red to green in an ambient atmosphere. This thermometer can be applied to temperature gradient distribution detection and document security over a temperature range of 0 °C to 80 °C with high stability and reversibility.
