Excellent selectivity for direct conversion of syngas to light olefins over a Mn–Ga oxide and SAPO-34 bifunctional catalyst

Abstract

A bifunctional catalyst consisting of a Mn–Ga oxide and SAPO-34 was designed for the direct conversion of syngas to light olefins. A selectivity for olefins of 88.3% and 13.7% CO conversion were obtained. This selectivity is superior to those reported previously and is attributed to the presence of abundant oxygen vacancies and the moderate H2 dissociation ability of the Mn–Ga oxide, and to the weak acidity of SAPO-34.
