Formation of an oriented Bi2WO6 photocatalyst induced by in situ Bi reduction and its use for efficient nitrogen fixation

Abstract

We proposed an in situ bismuth reduction strategy to induce a preferred orientation of a Bi2WO6 structure. Metallic Bi was used as a lattice junction to make Bi2WO6 highly orientated on the lattice structure. This orientated structure apparently provided a closely attached interface and transfer channel for photogenerated carrier separation, resulting in effective nitrogen fixation.
