Reduced graphene-tungsten trioxide-based hybrid materials with peroxidase-like activity

Abstract

A hybrid was synthesized using tungsten trioxide and graphene as starting materials. Hybrid’s characteristics were investigated by scanning and transmission microscopy, Raman and adsorption spectroscopy. Incubation with model chemical compound used for evaluating enzymatic activity showed effective oxidative degradation. Future application for decontamination-based platforms is envisioned.
