Boosting bi-functional Mo doped ZnCoP nanosheets high performance electrocatalysts for overall water splitting

Abstract

To rationally construct electrode structures with high activity is very significant for bi-functionalization conversion system. However, single electrode material often exhibits slow electrons transportation. To address above issues, we fabricate Mo and P co-doping ZnCo-LDH samples with high electrochemical activity through a convenient hydrothermal and phosphation method. The as-obtained Mo-ZnCoP-3 products exhibit excellent HER activity with a slow overpotential of 161.7 mV at -10 mA cm-2 and a small overpotential of 300.1 mV at 50 mA cm-2 for OER. In addition, the as-prepared electrocatalyst shows excellent overall water splitting performance with low cell voltage of 1.56 V at 50 mA cm-2, indicating that Mo element doping could effectively regulate the electronic structure of ZnCoP nanosheets.
