Discovery of two types of new porphyrin-C70 co-crystals: influence of intermolecular contact on the inherent resistance

Abstract

Two new types of supramolecular aggregate co-crystals containing C70 and M(TPP), Co(TPP)•C70•1.5CS2 (1) and M(TPP)•C70•CS2 [M = Zn(2), 2H (3), TPP], were discovered by adjusting synthetic parameters, and their inherent resistance measurement was utilized to study the intermolecular contact of these compounds for the first time. The results show that the resistance was affected by the packing of the components as well the metal center of M(TPP) units, and the method could clearly benefit the discovery of new aggregates with stronger interaction.
