Direct growth of ZnO crystals on various Cu substrates by Cu-catalyzed chemical bath deposition

Abstract

By the catalytic action of Cu, ZnO crystals grow directly on the Cu substrate immersed in an aqueous solution containing zinc nitrate and dimethylamine borane. This facile solution process allows uniform and dense deposition of ZnO on various Cu substrates, including epitaxial growth on a single-crystal Cu plate.
