Improving properties of energetic coordination polymers through structural modulation from 1D to 3D without changes of ligands or metal nodes†
Abstract
Two energetic coordination polymers, Pb2(AOT)2·7(H2O) (1) (AOT: 5,5′-azo-bis(1-oxidotetrazonate)) and Pb2(AOT)O·3(H2O) (2), were prepared at different temperatures and pressures. X-ray data indicate that compound 1 is a 1D structure, while compound 2 is a compact 3D structure. Unlike previous methods on structural modulation, changes of organic ligands or metal nodes are not needed in this work. Experimental analysis and energetic evaluations show that 2 exhibits better mechanical sensitivity, thermal stability, and detonation performance than 1.
