Optical pico-biosensing of lead using plasmonic gold nanoparticles and cationic peptide based aptasensor

Abstract

A novel biosensor for the rapid detection of lead ions employing optical properties of AuNPs, specificity of lead specific aptamer and cationic nature of the peptide has been demonstrated. The limit of detection of the biosensor 98.7pM which is the lowest obtained by colorimetric method so far.
