Degradation of phthalic acid esters (PAEs) by enzyme mimics and its application to degradation of intracellular DEHP

Abstract

An enzyme mimics inspired by serine proteases had been developed for degradation of PAEs. This enzyme mimics, comprised of active site (SHD), self-assembling polypeptide (LKLKLKL), spacer (GGG) and polymerizable site (DOPA), showed high activity toward degradation of DEHP in cells.
