Strategy for Stabilizing Noble Metal Nanoparticles without Sacrificing Active Sites

Abstract

We report a facile surface fluorination strategy for restricting Pt nanoparticles sintering through providing anchoring sites on TiO2 support and enhancing metal-support interaction via electronic metal-support interaction improvement without sacrificing the active sites. The fluorine tailored Pt/TiO2 exhibits excellent sintering-resistant property and significant activity enhancement in the catalytic toluene oxidation process.
