Rapid Screening of Hydrogen Bonding Strength from Radicals by Electrochemiluminescence Probes

Abstract

We discover that a clear decrease in the luminol electrochemiluminescence (ECL) intensities of luminol appeared upon increasing electron donating capacity of the electron donor group in amides. Therefore, a novel ECL probe has been first used to screen the hydrogen bonding strength between HOO• radicals and amides. This proposed hydrogen bonding strength-sensitive ECL probe has a great prospect in distinguishing hydrogen bonding strength from different radicals.
