Rh-Catalyzed regioselective C-H activation and C-C bond formation: Synthesis and photophysical studies of indazolo[2,3-a]quinolines

Abstract

Rh(III)-catalyzed regioselective C-H functionalization of 2-aryl-2H-indazoles with alkynes is reported to furnish indazoloquinolines utilizing Cu(OAc)2·H2O as an oxidant, which facilidates the reductive elimination step. Kinetic isotope studies suggests that the C-H activation is presumably the product determining step. The products display a strong blue emission with high quantum yields.
