Ag(I) nitrate catalyzed facile synthesis of 3-substituted quinolin-2(1H)‑ones through cyclization of o-alkynylisocyanobenzenes

Abstract

A synthesis of various functionalized 3-substituted quinolin-2(1H)‑ones is described. A collection of o-alkynylisocyanobenzenes were examined for their ability to undergo cyclization to yield the corresponding 3-substituted quinolin-2(1H)‑ones. The reaction allows rapid and convenient access to 3-substituted quinolin-2(1H)‑ones scaffolds in moderate to good yields.
