Preparation of a novel polyfunctional and high adsorption capactity adsorbent by laccase-catalyzed self-polymer of GAL and cross-linking PEI

Abstract

A novel polyfunctional and high adsorption capacity adsorbent was prepared by the laccase-catalyzed self-polymer of GAL and cross-linking PEI. When the mass ratio is 2:1 of GAL and PEI, self-polymerization temperature, pH and time is 50℃, 4.5 and 24h, cross-linking temperature, pH and time is 70℃, 8~9 and 24h, the the PGAL-PEI has excellent adsorption capacity for metal ions, where the absorbed amount reached 159 mg/g, 88.23 mg/g, 320.8 mg/g, 511.36 mg/g, 234.2 mg/g and 174.8 mg/g for Zn(II), Fe(III), Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II) and Cr(III) at 25℃ and pH=5, respectively. The stability experiment showed that PGAL-PEI has good stability under the acidic conditions. These findings suggest that PGAL-PEI has a considerable potential for the application of metal ions removed from waste water.
