Amine–carboxylate supramolecular synthon in pharmaceutical cocrystals

Abstract

Carboxylate moieties are less considered in the field of pharmaceutical cocrystal research, although they are contained in some important drug substances and cocrystal formers. Here, we demonstrated that an amine–carboxylate intermolecular interaction (N–H⋯OOC) can be used as a supramolecular synthon for pharmaceutical cocrystal design.
