Wet Chemical Synthesis of Metal Oxide Nanoparticles: A Review


Metal oxides nanoparticle is an important class of nanomaterials that finds several applications in science and technology. Achieving selective surface structure, phase, shape, and size of metal oxides nanoparticles leading to set of desired properties are possible through wet chemical synthesis. The wet chemical synthesis route allows fine tuning of reaction conditions (temperature, concentration of substrate and also additives or surfactant, pH, etc.) that gives the desired nanomaterial. In this review article, we highlight recent developments in the wet chemical synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles to have great control over the quality of nanomaterials. The review critically evaluates the different wet chemical methods for scalable production of metal oxide nanoparticles to satisfy the growing demand for nanomaterial in the industry. Special attention is paid to continuous flow synthesis of metal oxide nanoparticles.
