Au(i)-Catalyzed expeditious access to naphtho[2,3-c]furan-1(3-H)-ones from readily available propargylic ynoates

Abstract

Gold(I)-catalyzed facile construction of naphtho[2,3-c]furan-1(3-H)-ones from readily available propargylic ynoates has been developed. This reaction tolerates a range of substituents, exhibits a moderate to good efficiency, and reveals a new reaction pathway of an in situ-generated carboxyallene intermediate in gold catalysis.
