Nano ceria supported nitrogen doped graphene as a highly stable and methanol tolerant electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction

Abstract

Ceria (CeO2) nanoparticles with ellipsoid shape are coupled on a nitrogen doped reduced graphene oxide sheet through a single step solvothermal procedure. This non-precious-metal based nanocomposite material displayed enhanced electrochemical oxygen reduction activity with a 4eāˆ’ process similar to commercial Pt/C but with much higher stability and methanol tolerant properties.
