Synthesis of sunflower-like gold nanostructures and their application in electrochemical immunoassays using the nanogold-triggered hydrogen evolution reaction

Abstract

A novel and unconventional electrochemical immunosensing protocol was designed for the sensitive monitoring of neuron-specific enolase (NSE, as a model analyte) by using the sunflower-like gold nanostructure (AuSF)-triggered hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).
