Flexible bio-interfaced nanoelectronics

Abstract

The development of biomedical devices, such as neural prostheses and cardiac pacemakers, depends critically on the capability of electrode arrays and their interfaces with soft tissues. Advances in nanomaterial-based flexible electronics offer important opportunities for high-fidelity tissue interfacing and signal recording. This Highlight is focused on recent progress in flexible nanoelectronics interfaced to neural/cardiac tissues, with an emphasis on high-resolution electrophysiological mapping over large tissue areas.
