Dispersion of single-walled carbon nanotubes into aqueous solutions using Poh's cyclotetrachromo-tropylene (CTCT)†
Abstract
Poh's cyclotetrachromotropylene (CTCT), a water-soluble cyclic oligomeric dihydroxynaphthalenedisulfonate, was found to be capable of selectively dispersing single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) into the aqueous phase. The resulting supramolecular complexes in aqueous solution were characterized by UV-Vis-NIR analysis, while the dried aggregates were examined by Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
