Water-based synthesis and sensing application of polyallylamine functionalized platinum nanodendrite assemblies†
Abstract
Here we report a facile chemical reduction route to synthesize polyallylamine (PAH) functionalized platinum nanodendrite assemblies (Pt-NDAs). Based on an aggregation directed nanocrystal rapid growth mechanism, phosphoric acid induced attachment of single PAH functionalized nanodendrite is responsible for the formation of self-assembled morphology. The PAH functionalization endows Pt-NDAs with particular self-assembly ability on the glassy carbon (GC) electrode. The Pt-NDAs self-assembled on the GC electrode exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity for the nitrite oxidation, and thus can be used as an electrochemical sensor for nitrite detection.
