A dual-responsive chromo-fluorescent probe for detection of Zn2+ and Fe3+via two different approaches

Abstract

A new rhodamine-based probe RSB-1 shows highly selective turn-on absorbance at 380 nm and 555 nm and fluorescence at 440 nm and 585 nm, on addition of Zn2+ and Fe3+, respectively, and allows both simultaneous and individual qualitative and quantitative detection of Fe3+ and Zn2+.
