Reaction of tetrachlorinated perylene bisimide in a strong base to form an asymmetric compound with charge transfer optical properties

Abstract

A novel perylene oxazine imide (POI) with donor–π-bridge–acceptor (D–π–A) asymmetric structure was synthesized from tetrachlorinated perylene bisimide (PBI) through transformation of one imide group to oxazine, which exhibits significant charge transfer optical properties in solutions.
