Monitoring the on–off switching of the electronic communication in diethynylplatinum(ii)-bridged dyads using triplet energy transfer

Abstract

Despite conjugation and downhill manifolds in [Ir][Pt][ZnTPP] ([ZnTPP] = (tetraphenylporphyrin)zinc(II), [Ir] = bis(phenylpyridinato)(bipyridine)iridium(III), [Pt] = trans-C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CPt(PBu3)2-C[triple bond, length as m-dash]C), essentially no T1[Ir] → S1/T1[ZnTTP] energy transfer occurs.
