A library of large-scale surface patterns induced by flame on elastomers

Abstract

We present a new method for the generation of large-scale micro/nanoscale patterns by inducing flame on elastomers. A variety of patterns can be predictably generated by varying the stretching/bending strain direction, strain strength on elastomers, stencil mask geometry, or by using multi-step transfer and stretching.
