Abstract
A new multifunctional 2-fold interpenetrated 3D metal–organic framework (MOF) {[Co2(ndc)2(bpee)2](bpee)} has been synthesized by a solvothermal technique from a mixture of Co(NO3)2, 6H2O, ndc and bpee with addition of 1 ml Et3N (ndc = 2,6-napthalene space group with the Schlafli symbol {36.418.53.6}.{36.418.53.6}. The micro-porous complex contains large void space for accommodation of guest bpee after interpenetration.
