Sym-(CH2X)5-corannulenes: molecular pentapods displaying functional group and bioconjugate appendages

Abstract

Pentapodal ω-functional derivatives of corannulene have been synthesized from sym-pentachlorocorannulene by iron-catalyzed arylalkyl cross coupling reactions. Click chemistry gives access to pentapods with bioconjugate appendages.
