A new approach to shape memory polymer: design and preparation of poly(methyl methacrylate) composites in the presence of star poly(ethylene glycol)

Abstract

Poly(methyl methacrylate) composites obtained in the presence of star poly(ethylene glycol) as shape memory polymers exhibit an extraordinary combination of rapid and full shape recovery with excellent mechanical properties compared to poly(methyl methacrylate)-poly(ethylene glycol) semi-interpenetrating networks by the synergistic effect of star polymer and polymer network.
