Synthesis and reactions of hydroxobis(η5-pentamethylcyclopenta-dienyl)(trifluoroethenyl)titanium(iv)

Abstract

Hydrolysis of the trifluoroethenyl titanium complexes 1a and b yields the hydroxo complexes 2 which can be deprotonated forming the sodium salt of the anionic oxo complex 4. 4a is one of the rare examples of monomeric organometallic anionic oxo complexes.
