Borylene-based functionalization of Pt–alkynyl complexes by photochemical borylene transfer from [(OC)5Cr[double bond, length as m-dash]BN(SiMe3)2]

Abstract

Photochemical borylene transfer from [(OC)5Cr[double bond, length as m-dash]BN(SiMe3)2] to the platinum σ-alkynyl complex [Cl(PMe3)2Pt–C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CPh] gave facile access to the first transition metal–borirene complex. The title compound has been fully characterized in solution and by X-ray crystallography.
