Cellulose decorated cavities on ultrathin films of PMMA

Abstract

By exploiting the lateral phase separation of binary polymer blends in thin film deposition and distinct solvent affinities of the polymers, ultrathin poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films were prepared with quantifiable cavities (diameter: 10–160 nm, depth: 1–10 nm) that contain cellulose decoration.
