Towards proton transfer in hydrogen bonded molecular complexes: joint experimental and theoretical modelling and an energy scale for polymorphism

Abstract

Exploring possible proton transfer effects in polymorphic molecular complexes of isonicotinamide with oxalic acid highlights the significant covalent nature of short, strong hydrogen bonds in these complexes. An energy scale for the observed polymorphism in these complexes is established.
